Friday Five

  1. This quote is available as a free download for your desktop from one of my favorite and inspirational brands.  If you aren't following @soworthloving on instagram then add them. While you're adding follow @eryneddy , the owner as well. Her feed is dreamy. I love the monochromatic-ness of it.

2. We've been on spring break this week. We have a big surprise roadtrip planned for the kids so I was trying to come up with some local fun for them and we found a new fun outting. Indoor rock climbing. It was very challenging for the kiddos and adults. But also, tons of fun and great exercise.

3/Tried this recipe for a simple salad that I found on @buenobrandi instagram.  UM. YUM. Seriously. I loved it. So did my gang. She also posted a breakfast idea with red quinoa that has been great. I could literally eat it every single day.

4. I got a fresh cut. Really digging it. Trying to change up my color for a grow out. Yeah yeah I know you've all heard this before. But I have an idea in mind, so we'll see if I can meet it.

 5. I set a PR for push press this week. 95#. Getting  back in my groove. Still have a ways to go

It's the weekend! Get out there and live it up.

Munchkin approved oatmeal

I have the hardest time with oatmeal. I know it is good for me but in order for it to be truly healthy, the taste is pretty bland and never enticing. I will eat it because I know it's good for me, but telling that to my kiddos is another thing!

This morning we were out of milk and running low on time. Instead of eggs I decided I would try oatmeal again for them. They were less than thrilled but I promised them a buffet of toppings.

They were really excited when I told them they could have a sprinkle of brown sugar, a swirl of pure maple syrup and all the fruit they wanted. They piled on the grapes, strawberries and blueberries and then a handful of pecans.

It was the fastest consumption of oatmeal I have ever witnessed. Mission accomplished!!!

They were also really excited to share with the blogosphere there newfound love.  They are anxious to see if any of you have the same reaction. Leave your comments!!!
